--Teacher ELMO copies of exercises for checking for understanding

This lesson is an Explicit Direct Instruction lesson. It is direct and straight to the point. The notes can be projected for students to write down on their own. Examples are provided which they can also copy down. Since it is designed for ELMO users teachers can annotate and add their own notes as they explain the concepts.
The exercises are also typed up for the purposes of being projected on the ELMO. This is where checking for understanding comes in. Students can come up to the board and share their answers up at the board. Random calling students to come up to the front forces them to make sure they are prepared to answer the questions. When they know there is a possibility for them to be called on, they are more likely to check their work.
Writing Application activity included to ensure understanding. Teacher answer key is also included.
