This pack of 6 worksheets looks at the use of adjectives, nouns, pronouns, proper nouns, verbs and adverbs in narrative/descriptive writing. The sheets remind students what these components of language are and provide passages from Roald Dahl's "Matilda" that contain these features for students to find and underline. After these activities, students are then required to put their knowledge into action, by completing activities where they have to use these components of language themselves.
A 2-page guide for teachers is included, outlining the activities and concepts covered in each lesson.
I have used this successfully with my Grade 1/2 gifted and talented class. Students in mainstream classes Grade 3-6 would also suit these activities if needing to learn or revise these grammar components.
