This French grammar worksheet is a great way for students to practice the conjugation of regular -RE verbs. They will also receive practice identifying and correctly conjugating irregular verbs that end in -RE, such as "lire," "dire," and "écrire."
Part one reminds students of the basics of conjugating regular -RE verbs, while part two gives students practice dropping the -RE to form correct verb stems.
Next, in part three, students practice filling in the blank with the correct forms of regular -RE verbs, and choose four of the sentences to translate into English.
In part four, students fill in the blank with the correct forms of irregular verbs that happen to end in -RE - "lire," "dire," and "écrire." They will also choose four of the sentences to translate into English.
Finally, in part five, students must be able to recognize which verbs ending in -RE are regular and which ones are irregular. They must then fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the corresponding verbs.
Note: For users of the Bon Voyage level 1 textbook, this corresponds very well with Chapter 9 Structure. It also works well with Chapter 4 of Bien Dit level 1. In fact, it is a Word document that can easily be edited and adapted to any French textbook or curriculum.
