Grammar by the Month: December for 4th Grade is a set of worksheets that target specific 4th grade Common Core language standards, while including interesting historical or seasonal themes for the month of December.
Topics include capitals, comma usage (in direct speech, quotations and for an introductory element), punctuation for effect, adjective order, grade level spelling words, frequently confused words (homophones), antonyms and synonyms, figurative language (idioms, similes, and metaphors), context clues, and Greek Latin Roots. (CCSS.L.1.d, 1.g, 2.a, 2.b, 2.c, 2.d, 3.b, 4.a, 4.b, 5.a, 5.b, and 5.c)
Specifically it includes:
Table of Contents with standards and topics covered
1 student cover sheet (if you want to make it into a packet)
Usually, there are enough worksheets here to do three a week (maybe Monday, Wednesday, or Friday) for the entire month, but since this is a short month for most schools, you might want to do one each day!
They can be used as morning work, as a review, to reinforce new lessons, in centers, for small groups, for one on one help, or even as homework.
Topics are interesting for kids and thematic for the month of December, which makes it much more fun than your average grammar practice pages.
