This 26 page Grammar by the Month unit for 5th graders targets specific 5th grade Common Core language standards and does so while including interesting historical or seasonal themes for the month of November.
Topics include capitals, capitals for titles of works, punctuation, comma usage (for a series, a tag question, to set off a word, for direct address, and for an introductory element), interjections, prepositions, correlative conjunctions, split quotations, spelling (homophones) and verb tense shifts (CCRA.L.1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and 2E).
Specifically it includes:
Table of Contents with standards and topics listed
1 student cover sheet (if you want to make it into a packet)
There are enough worksheets here to do three a week (maybe Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for the entire month. They can be used as morning work, as a review, to reinforce new lessons, in centers, for small groups, for one on one help, or even as homework.
Topics are interesting for kids and thematic for the month of November, which makes it much more fun than your average grammar practice pages.
