Product Description
Your search for authentic grammar in context is over.

This collection of literary examples shows students that using parts of speech is real for the authors they read every day.

Over 65 purposefully-chosen quotations from young adult fiction books are aligned to 30 parts of speech concepts. These quotations demonstrate best practices in parts of speech and their usage. The ten contemporary young adult books the quotations come from are tailored to the 6th-8th grade reading and interest level. The texts span a wide range of popular genres and current authors, all of whom have multiple titles your students will enjoy long after the grammar lesson is over.

Writing professionals and teachers agree that standard textbook examples aren’t enough to emphasize abstract grammar concepts. If the sample sentences are meaningless, the grammar concepts will be meaningless too. With this tool students will not only connect with these quotations, they will be exposed to the books behind them. Grammar will be a driving force behind getting books in your students hands. Since teachers don’t have time to pull quotations from the many young adult books they read, I spent over fifty hours compiling meaningful and engaging examples that show students the practicality of grammar. Introducing and emphasizing parts of speech does not have to be boring! Augment the tedious textbook examples with authentic sentences that demonstrate not only grammar concepts but how they function in real literature.
