Want to incorporate TEST PREP grammar in small doses? Get ready to activate your students’ brains and learn grammar rules through inductive reasoning!

This set of lessons can be used daily or weekly for any ELA class that needs help with common grammar and word choice errors, whether they’re learning for the first time, or need some level of review/ differentiation. While introductory in nature, there will be plenty of high school classes that need this, and not just middle school ones (especially for SAT/ACT prep)!

Here’s how it works:
1. Instead of presenting the rule and asking students to simply memorize or absorb, students are shown two pairs of right and wrong sentences; they must analyze what pattern is happening on the screen and try to predict the grammar rule.
2. Then, you get to reveal the correct answer, discuss the topic in more detail, and then move on with your day.
3. After using this slideshow, you will know if students are going to need more instruction on a particular topic, or if they are ready to move on to application and/or another topic.
4. At the end of the 40 lessons, give them the glossary activity to review all the rules they've learned!

Section 2 (Apostrophe Errors): They’re/ their/ there, Your/ you’re, Its/ it’s, Singular nouns, Plural nouns

Section 3 (Miscellaneous Rules): Among/ between, Fewer/ less, Amount/ number, Who/ that, That/ which, Since/ because, Good/ well, Me/I, i.e./ e.g.

Section 4 (Words that AREN’T REAL): A lot/ a lot, Should of/ should’ve
