Help your students meet Common Core Standards by using these Grand Conversation Cards as an after reading activity. There are red cards for fiction reading and green cards for non fiction reading. These cards help students answer who, what, when, where, why, and how questions. Some cards ask students to analyze the plot characters, and setting. Others ask students to respond to questions about the theme or topic of books, the author's purpose, and text connections. Use the cards for small group discussion (Listening and Speaking CCLS) or for book conferencing. Each card contains one discussion question/topic. There are twelve cards for fiction and twelve cards for nonfiction.
