Grandparents' Day Perfect Gift Idea - Subway Art with a small picture frame and message lines. In 2015, National Grandparents' Day falls on September 13th
*** Please note that that each of the pages say 'grandparents', since this is for Grandparents' Day. Due to time constraints, I will not be able to make any changes to the subway art design. Please open the preview before purchasing to double check that it will work for your needs. Thank you. :-)
With this Grandparents' Day gift, some of the work is already done. Positive 'grandparent' themed words have been used to create a fun piece of art work, but there is a special place left for students to write their own words or a short message to a grandparent or grandparents. In addition, there is an illustration box (picture frame) where students can draw an image of a special memory with a grandparent, or you can have the kids bring in an image of themselves with a grandparent. You can trim it to fit the oval and glue it down.
A few options are available. There is a black and white version where students can add all of the color, or there are several color options if you want to print some fun colored backgrounds.
This prints on 8.5 x 11 paper (portrait view). Just pop it into a frame of your choice and VOILA....perfect inexpensive gift that will make any mom smile.
OR, you don't even have to buy a frame. Just laminate the finished product, punch a hole in each top corner, and run a pretty ribbon through the holes. Make a pretty bow in the center. Very Pretty!!
Just a suggestion, but take a printed copy with you when you go to shop for a frame. You can insert it into a frame right there in the store to make sure the frame doesn't cover the subway art. My Dollar Store has some great black frames!! If it doesn't fit perfectly into an 8.5x11 frame, just remove the glass, center it over the image, trace around the glass, and then cut off the excess border of the paper.
