This freebie includes:
Secret Message Art Project: Use cardstock paper for this project to allow the “magic” to work. Step 1: Have the students draw a picture for their grandparents. (Explain that they might not want to use a black crayon because it might take away some of the “magic”.) Step 2: Have them glue ALL OVER the side of the page with the words I Love You. Make sure it is completely covered. Step 3: Make sure the words I Love You touch the back of the picture they drew for their grandparents. Then press firmly to make sure it is completely secure. Step 4: Show them how to reveal the secret message with a flashlight.
Grandparent Medal Art Project: Use a small sized paper plate to make an adorable medal for your grandparents. You can choose which type of small plate you would like (gold, silver, plain with glitter, etc.). Have them color their medals, cut on black line, and glue to plate. If they chose the medal with the blank line, have them write the name they call their grandparent on the line.
Grandparents Day Poem: This poem can be used as a whole group lesson for finding rhyming words. Then individual copies can be given to the students for each of their grandparents. They can color the illustration and write their name on the line.
Grandparent Photo Props: Print these adorable photo props onto cardstock paper, laminate, cut out, and tape/glue to a dowel rod or Popsicle stick. Then let the fun begin, let the students choose their props of choice and pose. Then take a super cute picture to print and share with their grandparents.
