Grandparents had a ball making these booklets together with their grandchildren when they visited our first grade classroom. Two books are included, one for a grandmother and one for a grandfather. The ten page books have sentence starters for each page and a place for the child and/or grandparent to draw a picture. Older students could interview their grandparents and make these books independently as a gift. Just change the dotted midline on the primary skip-lined paper to a solid line and older students have room to add more details to their writing. These books, created with Microsoft Word, could also be easily modified to have students write about their mother, father, aunt, or uncle.
