We have Grandparents Day in October at our school. The entire school, PK-8 participates during our literacy hour. This makes it difficult at times to find something appropriate, fun, and unique for my older students, because it has to be literacy-related activities.
I’m also a fan of task cards. I’ve used stations and rotations during Grandparents Day before, and task cards are an easy way for students and their grandparents to move around, read together (working on literacy skills), write together (writing skills), and talk together (communication skills).
The information and questions in this packet are geared towards 4th-8th graders.

There are 20 task cards in all. The questions are on the answer/recording sheets. Students must read the cards to be able to answer the questions on the recording sheets.
