This is a 5-10 min quiz that I give after "Interpreting D vs T graphs" and "Calculating velocity from a D vs T Graph" (or after "More Graphing Analysis Practice" if the class needs it). It is a quick check for understanding either at the end of class or the beginning of the next day to make sure students were paying attention. Almost everyone (who was paying attention) earns perfect scores, which helps bolster their confidence. This especially important for my 9th graders who are nervous about science and the math that goes with it. I sometimes also use it in my lower level physics classes and would also be appropriate for advanced middle school students.
It is 5 questions. The first three ask students to use their understanding of slope of a distance vs time graph to describe a person's motion. The last two questions ask them to calculate the speeds for the whole time and part of the time.
