Product Description
I split the kids into groups of 2 or 3. Each student gets a double sided worksheet and a file folder. The first side of the worksheet has 6 graphs and the back side has 6 blank coordinate grids. The file folder gets set up so that the other people in the group can’t see the paper the other people have. In the groups, they pick one person to be the “describer” and the other people are the “drawers”. The describer should have the side of the worksheet showing that has all the graphs. The drawers have the blank coordinate grids showing. The describers get 2 minutes to describe the graph to the drawers. The drawers take the description and try to draw the graph on a blank coordinate grid. When the time is up, they check and see how close they are. Then they switch the describer becomes the drawer and vice versa.

Before I start the 2 minute timer for the first draw, we go over some vocabulary words that might be helpful to use when describing graphs. Things like: negative, positive, domain, range, maximum, minimum, slope, increasing, decreasing, no change, rate of change, x and yintercepts, x and yaxis, quadrants, etc.
