Sometimes the easiest work to leave for a sub is a video, but trying to find a handout to go with it makes it tougher to do. This is a great solution for those times! This worksheet is a perfect guide for all types of movies, including Modern Marvels, Dirty Jobs, National FFA keynote speakers, educational clips, documentaries, etc. All three are simple PDF handouts, but has a lot of application in your agricultural education courses.
Graphic Organizer: SAEs
In the middle, students write their SAE idea. Then, in the surrounding squares, there are the following questions: 3 things you need to get started; 2 people who can help you; 5 things you would learn from having this SAE; 3 reasons you would like to have this SAE.
Graphic Organizer: Sum It Up
Students first read an article/chapter or watch a video and capture key words and ideas of the material. Then, they use the bottom of the page to write a summary with as many main idea words as possible. The challenge is that they only have $2.00, and each word "costs" 10 cents, so they will have to be concise and summarize their ideas.
Graphic Organizer: Vocabulary Pictionary
This generic graphic organizer has students draw pictures of key terms in designated boxes. When the student has completed their pictures, they switch papers with someone else and attempt to guess the terms. This can be used for any terms in any subject.
Graphic Organizer: Venn Diagram
This generic graphic organizer has two circles that intersect. At the top there are two blanks for students to use for the subjects that are being compared and contrasted.
