This sheet can be used time and time again in English or Language Arts class. It is a one-page graphic organizer, in which students will complete the boxes in the diagram and "chart" the plot of the story they read. They will need to identify the setting and character background in the exposition, the events that contribute to the rising action, the climax, falling action, and the resolution of the story. This helps students visualize the function and structure of the elements of a story. It can be used for short stories or longer works as well. Use it as homework or in-class. It is a versatile, useful tool in the ELA classroom.
