Graphic Organizer: Questioning using Sticky Notes!
Common Core State Standard Addressed:
CCSS RL.1; RI.1 Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text.
The Sticky Note Reading graphic organizer is intended to be used for questioning. Good readers will ask questions about something that they don’t understand from what they have read. As students read, they are asked to stop and write down questions on sticky notes (these will need to be cut to fit the size). An example of a question may be “Why do you think Jen run to her friend’s house in the first place?” Students are also asked to come up with two multiple choice comprehension questions for what they read.
