This is a graphic organizer to help students review the audio, video and print sources for the AP Spanish Language and Culture class. There is a page for each of the 36 contexts (each of the six themes has 6 sub-themes or contexts). On each page the students can fill in the title, location (which book and page # or photocopy, etc.) and most important information that relates it to the context from all of the sources that they have used all year. My class is using this as a way to review all of the sources for the year so that they can better remember all of the points mentioned in them during the exam. In particular I want them to think about how some of the sources can fit not only into multiple contexts of one theme, but also into multiple themes.
For example: The reading about Zorro’s Vision Quest (in the Readings and audio for Personal and Private Identity product) fits well into the Heroes and Historical Figures Context as well as the Personal Beliefs and National and Ethnic Identity’s context for the Public and Private Identities Theme, but it also works for the Traditions and Social Values and the Life Styles contexts of The Contemporary Life theme and the Traditions and Values context of the Families and Communities theme. The information from the source that relates to each context is different, but the source provides insight into all of those contexts and perhaps even a few more.
