This resource includes five mystery pictures created by plotting coordinate pairs in all four quadrants.
Your students will be challenged to plot carefully in order to create the “math art.”
The five pictures include
GraphA - Pi symbol (35+ coordinate pairs)
GraphB - Kite (45+ coordinate pairs)
GraphC - Shamrock (60+ coordinate pairs)
GraphD - Basketball (30+ coordinate pairs; 4 points with decimals; 0.5)
GraphE - Leprechaun (75 coordinate pairs)
Samples of completed graphs/answer keys are also included.
All graphs involve positive and negative integers. Graphs D includes a few coordinates with a decimal value (0.5 only). It is important for students to estimate halfway and this is a good introduction to that skill.
