May Day/Mother’sDay - Flower
National Lost Sock Day May 9 - Sock
Cinco de Mayo- Mexican Hombre

May 23 is World Turtle Day - Turtle
This resource includes five mystery pictures created by plotting coordinate pairs in all four quadrants. All graphs involve positive and negative integers.
Your students will be challenged to plot carefully in order to create the “math art.”
The five pictures include
GraphA - Flower (30+ coordinate pairs)
GraphB - Sock (30+ coordinate pairs) -- see note below
GraphC - Mexican Hombre (80+ coordinate pairs)
GraphD - Bike (60+ coordinate pairs)

Samples of completed graphs are also included.

I've been asked, "Why is there a sock in May?"
May 9 is Lost Sock Memorial Day - a day to pay tribute to all those single socks that have lost a mate. Look it up or have the students research socks in May.
(also Down Syndrome Day in March uses socks to promote awareness).
