Your Algebra 2 and PreCalculus students will love graphing Conic sections with this new digital activity. On each of 12 slides is an equation of a conic; circles, parabolas, ellipses, or hyperbolas. Students identify the conic, and then drag the correct graph onto the coordinate plane carefully matching vertices, endpoints, asymptotes and other characteristics. Each slide has six or more graphs of conics from which to choose. Challenging, but fun as they don’t have to worry about making an ellipse not look like a diamond.
One of the great things about Google slides is that students can make notes on the slides with text boxes or in the notes area on the bottom of the slides. They can use this space to identify the coordinates of vertices and foci, or equations of asymptotes if you choose.
A printable answer sheet is also included should you want a blended activity. This activity can also be used for HW or an assessment. Perfect for PreCalculus or Algebra 2.
Detailed illustrated instructions on accessing and sharing this resource with your students are included as well as the link to the product and all answer keys.
