With Graphing Inequalities Human Graphs, you’ll receive problems for inequalities, compound inequalities, and absolute value inequalities where students will create a graph with their bodies. Graphs can be created with the entire class or small groups. Students will be given a “number” and have to create a number line with their fellow peers. They all can take a seat on the ground (in the hallway, playground, outside, etc.). The teacher will display an Inequality Card. Students will stand if their “number” satisfies the Inequality Card. This human graph will give the entire class a conceptual understanding of how inequalities can have multiple solutions. Teachers will also have an answer key of the 30 problems that students can be assessed on. This is a great activity as an introduction to inequalities and graphing. My students like the activity as a review but also gives students an opportunity to go outside and get moving.
What’s included? 30 Inequality Cards (10 Inequalities, 10 Compound Inequalities, and 10 Absolute Value Inequalities), answers to all inequality graphs and 44 Label Cards (for number line).
