This inquiry-based lab helps students to understand how to make data graphs, and how those graphs are different that the graph of a mathematical relationship. Specifically, this lab was created to prepare students for graphs on the New York state Living Environment Regents exam.
This is a fully-editable Microsoft Word .docx file. This document has many graphic elements. Because there are many versions of Word out there, you may need to tweak the spacing of those graphics when you open it. If you don't have Word, you can open it with Google Docs. If you can't get the formatting worked out exactly right, email me and I can send you a .pdf file.
I wrote this lab after dealing with years of trying to help students with common problems. I tried to roughly use a format similar to a POGIL, guiding the students through the important ideas.
