This powerpoint starts with a few exercises reviewing plotting points and evaluating expressions. Next, students are presented with and explanation of what a solution to a two-variable equation is, and are given a chance to practice two problems. Students are then introduced to the process of building a table of values for a two-variable equation. Included is an embedded video modelling the process on an example problem. Following this, there are a few practice problems for the students to work along with the presentation, followed by solution slides to promote discussion. Finally the main ideas are summarized once more. The last slide may be printed as a handout for student to work along with the exercises in the presentation.
