We all know that analyzing and understanding motion graphs can be challenging for students. This engaging, hands-on activity scaffolds student learning of this scientific skill. There is a PowerPoint to use as a warmup to get whole group practice interpreting graphs. Then students can work in small groups to match a description cards with the corresponding motion graph. The activity includes distance vs. time graphs, speed vs. time graphs, and data tables for students to analyze. This resource give students ownership of the content necessary to be successful with supporting standard 6.8D on the Grade 8 Science STAAR.
