This assignment allows scholars to practice different coordinate graph skills. For the first part scholars plot points on the coordinate plane and find the length of the segment created by the points. All points make horizontal and vertical lines, but I included diagonal lines so my challenge group could use the Pythagorean Theorem to find their length for differentiation (easy to delete if you do not want the challenge problems). We also found the perimeter and area of the rectangles for extra practice.
Next scholars will plot 3 points of a rectangle or parallelogram, and they must find the 4th point. Scholars will then find the length of each segment making up the rectangle and parallelograms (parallelogram sides can only be found by the challenge group).
Last scholars will be given one point, and the length of the segment, and they must provide 4 different points that will make 4 different segments of the same length starting at the same point.
This also comes with a homework sheet, so scholars can continue to practice at home.
