This is a 64 page presentation that allows students to practice reading and interpreting:
- bar graphs
- tally charts
- line plots
This presentation was designed to meet the increased rigor of VA state SOL testing, specifically focusing on SOL 3.17(math):
The student will:
a) collect and organize data, using observations, measurements, surveys, or experiments;
b) construct a line plot, a picture graph, or a bar graph to represent the data; and
c) read and interpret the data represented in line plots, bar graphs, and picture graphs and
write a sentence analyzing the data.
Each type of graph listed above has several different examples of graphs and accompanying questions for students to answer. Questions can be answered individually or whole-group. Question types are mostly open-ended with several questions where more than one answer may be selected as correct. Students also have the chance to create their own tally and picture graph following directions given.
**This presentation is also available as an Activinspire Flipchart. Please let me know if you would be interested in this additional file - free of charge :)
