This foldable addresses several aspects of graphing quadratic equations including identifying key vocabulary: parent function, axis of symmetry, vertex, and minimum/maximum value.
Students will be guided in solving for domain and range, vertex, axis of symmetry, minimum/maximum value, and y-intercept. Students will be able to identify whether a quadratic will have a minimum or a maximum.
Then after solving for all necessary aspects, students will set up a table of values using the vertex to graph the quadratic.
I use this foldable in my Algebra I class as an interactive notes activity to learn how to graph quadratic equations. I separate the foldable into two 45 minute class periods.
This could easily be used in an interactive notebook.
Instructions for printing and assembly as well as an answer key are included.
Print on colored paper for added variety.
