"There are so many steps, I don't know what to do when!" Does that sound familiar? This graphic organizer helps students breaks down the steps for identifying a, b, and c, finding the axis of symmetry and vertex, the y-intercept, then graphing the parabola. Having the students fill in the boxes of the organizer creates a pattern in their minds. The repetition will help reinforce the process they must take in order to graph a parabola. I recommend completing the fist example with your class and then allowing them to try out the next couple. Have a student or two responsible for an example; ask them to explain their work and steps to the class. Have other students put answers up on the board while students are working. This will allow you to circulate and help individuals. A homework assignment is also included with the same setup to continue student learning.
