This activity would be great for review of rational function graphs or as students are discovering the vocabulary with a book and finding the information on their own. They will create a book that contains definitions for the point of discontinuity, vertical and horizontal asymptotes, and the x and y intercepts. The students will then give two examples where they find the vocabulary words above, describe/show how they found it, and sketch a graph of the function. This can be an individual project or a collaborative activity with two students in a group. A possible grading rubric is included.
