Highly recommended resource! Nails home EVIDENCE that the seafloor near the mid-Atlantic ridge is newer than the sea floor near the continents.
The worksheet walks students through color coding a diagram of the seafloor and mid-Atlantic ridge, then measuring how far each "band" of sea floor is from the ridge. Using this data, students ultimately graph the relationship between the age of the sea floor rock and the distance from the mid-Atlantic ridge. Every step includes clear, middle-school appropriate directions.
