Part A: Parts of a Data Table
I use this activity as a review for students to freshen up on the parts of a data table.
This activity has a short passage with clues to help students label a data table on distance vs. time.
Part B: Label the Parts of the Graph
I use this activity as a review for students to freshen up on the parts of a graph and graphing using a data table.
This activity has two parts: Labeling a graph and graphing data from part A.
a.) Students will label the parts of a graph (x-axis, y-axis, graph title).
b.) Students will use the data table from part A to plot on the graph.
Part C: Calculating Speed using A Graph
I use this activity to help students learn how to calculate speed using the x-axis and y-axis in accordance with information provided by a question.
Students use the graph to illustrate how to calculate speed using the x-axis and y-axis. (drawing dotted-line and solid line).
There are practice problems to calculate speed using the graph.
Part D: Graphing Velocity
I use this activity as an informal assessment for students. Students work on graphing the information from a data table.
Part E: Calculating Velocity
I use this activity as practice for students to calculate velocity.
Part F: Homework
I use this homework as practice for students: Calculations and Graphs
