Students will write equations for vertical and horizontal lines, as well as get practice graphing lines. Students begin with a retro video-game style game board where they are searching for monsters. Students describe how they will go around the board using equations of vertical and horizontal lines to trace their path...and they will score points each time one of their lines passes through a monster. Fun way to celebrate Halloween in math class!
This resource includes a sample game to introduce the rules, as well as the materials to play three rounds of the Monster Hunter game.
