Description

Learning slope is one of the bigger concepts to take away in middle school. This activity allows students to practice graphing a line segment using slope. The best part of this activity is that students will get practice creating negative, positive, undefined and zero slopes. They start with a point and use slope to create a line segment to connect to another point. The problems are set up so that students will practice going other directions utilizing slope. A very interactive activity that will help students practice graphing slope.

Graph proportional relationships, interpreting the unit rate as the slope of the graph. Compare two different proportional relationships represented in different ways. For example, compare a distance-time graph to a distance-time equation to determine which of two moving objects has greater speed.
