This Google® Slide digital resource is a new engaging activity for your students to practice graphing and determining the characteristics of Exponential Functions. It is interactive, challenging and fun, plus it is NO PREP for you.
It is appropriate for Algebra 2 or PreCalculus.
In the first part of the activity, students analyze 18 graphs, all transformations of a basic function and identify which transformations were used to graph the 18 functions. There are also two slides with formulas and rules of the properties of exponential functions for students to refer to.
Then students work on 8 different exponential functions. They create a table, find the domain, range, asymptote , x – intercepts, y-intercepts, and determine transformations for the eight different functions. After analyzing the characteristics and properties, students choose the correct graph from three choices and use drag and drop to place the asymptote in the proper position.
This engaging, rigorous activity has over 70 questions in all for your students to complete. Answer keys are included. A printable version of the problems is included
just in case of a bad tech day or a blended class. The printable version can also be used for Task or Station Cards and is also a great graphic organizer for Interactive Notebooks.
