Students always get enthusiastic when it comes to doing a project involving street art or graffiti. It has a style all it's own and that's why I chose graffiti arrows in particular to have students work on mastering the smooth blending of values from light to dark then contrasted against dark to light. Graffiti arrows appear to be 3 dimensional yet there is no vanishing point - it's just fun to make them as thick or thin as you like. This art lesson plan is for junior high art, high school art and up. Remember: you can always water down a lesson or add complexity to it depending on your audience.
