This is a packet full of everything you might possibly need to teach about organizing, using, and reading graphs.
-Words to Know page 3 (Copy on cardstock and cut out. Have students practice matching the term with the definition.)
-My Foldable pages 4-5 (Copy 1-sided and staple pages together down left side. Have students cut on the lines in between words. Then draw a picture and take notes to help remember each type of graph.)
-What’s Your Favorite page 6 (An activity for students to practice giving a survey and recording data with tally marks.)
-Tally Mark Matching Cards pages 7-10 (Students will match a card with tally marks to a card with the correct numeral. This will help students practice reading and identifying tally marks.)
-I Spy Graphing Activities pages 11-29 (Give students the sorting mat. They can use counters to help keep track of how many of each picture they see on their mat. Next, they will fill in their tally charts and answer the questions about the given survey. Finally, they will use their information to color in and graph the data.)
They will have a Sorting Mat, Survey Says Worksheet, and Graphing Worksheet for each of the following questions: favorite snack, favorite pet, favorite fruit, favorite sea creature, and favorite insect.
-Food Graphing pages 30-32 (Color Goldfish, Skittles, and M&M Graphing)
