The goal of this discovery activity is for students to observe the effect that the values of “a” and “c” have on the graph of a quadratic function in standard form. (NOTE: Only includes functions of the form ax^2 and x^2+c)
It would be helpful if students are already familiar with quadratic functions in standard form and parabolas. Students should also know how to complete a table of values to graph the quadratic parent function.
