Using graphing calculators is a great way to introduce parabolas. Have your students focus on the vertex, positive/negative "a" term, x-intercepts and y-intercepts.
Get your students up and moving around with this scavenger hunt. Once they work one problem, they will locate that answer on another poster. They now have a new problem to work out and the cycle repeats itself until all the questions have been answered. It is set up so that each group of 2-3 can start at a different place and work at their own pace. It is also self checking - if they can't find their answer, then they go back and find their mistake!
