Description

Gratitude Practise in May and Spring Time - Flower Power

This May, celebrate spring with the Flower Power craftivity! Then begin (or continue) a gratitude practise with this month's gratitude journal. Building a sense of gratitude can boost resilience, enhance well-being, and encourage a positive outlook on life. There's no better time to start than now!

Flower Power Craftivity

The "Flower Power" craft/activity can be used as a stand alone spring craft, part of a two-day lesson aimed at showing gratitude in four different areas or as the beginning of your classroom gratitude practise. However you choose to use it, it is easy and fun!

The craft is as easy as cutting, coloring and pasting! Students can make it their own by decorating the flower however they wish! These also make a bright and beautiful spring bulletin board (titles included).

Gratitude Journal: Gratitude Garden

A Gratitude Journal is a great addition to your morning or afternoon routine or can be used for early finishers or writing practice. It’s simple and effective; students write down and draw one thing that they are grateful for each day.

Journal prompts are also included in the journal to guide their thinking for the day. I recommend having students writing in the journal 1-2 times a week.

WHAT'S INCLUDED...

Practising Gratitude

Multiple studies show that people who regularly practice gratitude experience more positive emotions, express more compassion, kindness and empathy toward others, are more resilient, sleep better, and even have stronger immune systems.

Have fun and Welcome Spring!

You might also be interested in the Gratitude by Month series.

"Gratitude by Month" is a gratitude series I am working on. Each month’s package includes:

1. a craftivity - a craft and writing activity combined, the craftivity helps celebrate a holiday or the time of year while providing students an opportunity to write about something they are grateful for. They also make great displays!

2. a gratitude journal - each package contains a new gratitude journal with images/graphics relating to holidays or the season of that month.

3. gratitude prompts - in order to help students come up with different things to be grateful for each day in their gratitude journal, each package includes prompts to get the brain juices flowing. These come in different forms (posters, table cards or mini flashcards) and may have similar ideas but they are all aimed at inspiring gratitude.
