Teach your students about great artists from the art periods of the Renaissance to the Post Impressionists. This booklet includes some biographical information for each of the thirteen artists presented, with three levels of information. You can decide how much information your students can absorb and present that much. There is also a description of how to present the lessons and a photograph of an actual work of art done by each artist. Directions are given for student art work done in the style of the great artist. Basic art supplies are used for each project and a photograph of a student produced work is included. Some lessons take more than an hour to complete but most are hour long projects. These can be used from kindergarten to eighth grade and modified to meet all age levels. Approximately fifteen hours of art instruction would be achieved by using these lessons. I've used the lessons myself in grades 1-5 with excellent results. To have a year long program, you can also purchase my other art booklet that continues after the Post Impressionist period. There are also time line for art history pages included. Teachers can use those for each student to have an art folder or they can be hung on the wall, creating a visual time line.
