The Great Depression was a difficult time for America and, indeed, the world. This webquest is a great way to introduce your students to this time period in history class or to give your students the historical context needed to read Depression-era novels such as To Kill a Mockingbird; Bud, Not Buddy; The Grapes of Wrath; or Of Mice and Men.
In this webquest, students will build background knowledge about the Great Depression. Then they will analyze primary sources about this time, including a series of photographs and a song. Finally, they will apply all this knowledge to compose a short poem about the causes, course, and consequences of the Great Depression.
This resource includes both a student webquest form and an answer key.
