Great Destinations is a map of the United States that can be used in several ways in the classroom. Each state has one "Great Destination" listed that could be a United States national landmark, a United States historic site, a beautiful natural landscape or interesting notable location in the United States. This can be utilized by teachers presenting United States curriculums to enhance historical and/or geographical lessons in a unique fashion. This map could also be used as a handout to allow students to choose a state and/or "Great Destination" as a topic for an assigned project. Some of the "Great Destinations" listed are: Yellowstone National Park, Space Needle, Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Arlington National Cemetery, Redwood National Park, The Liberty Bell, Plymouth Rock/Mayflower and the Statue of Liberty. This handout was originally designed to be used in conjunction with Kerry Rogers O'Loughlin's book titled "Baxter's Journey to New York City".
