We all love those moments when students have a great discussion about something we are teaching, but sometimes students need to be taught what a good discussion looks likes and what they can do to help make a discussion great. This resource is a great one for teaching kids how to discuss. Students start with a list of great question/sentence starters for several different types of questions (all of which lead to good discussions) They write their own questions and answers about your topic. They also use the list of piggybacking sentence starters and discussion tips to discuss the topic using their own questions as the foundation. Finally, they reflect on the conversation and their part in the discussion.
This product is designed to be used with any subject and can be used over and over again. It is also fully editable so you can adjust it to suit a particular topic if you would like!
