For every three chapters of The Great Gatsby, I designed a writing piece to go with it. For chapters four through six, students needed to focus on a literary device of some sort. Most likely, students utilized more than one literary device, but one had to be prominent throughout. The following items are also reflected in the rubric: format, textual evidence, use of textual evidence to correlate with purpose, creativity, and grammar and mechanics.
For every project, to correlate with the state standards, students needed to cite five direct pieces of evidence from the chapters with page numbers.
SPECIAL NOTE: There is an example of this writing piece attached to the second page of the rubric, and on the third page, there is the textual evidence I used in creation of my writing piece.
