Product Description
This is a collaborative group task that engages students in a story and gets them to believe they are in the situation. Included is a photo and map (feel free to force students to get the map online). It is irrelevant which map is chosen (it just needs a scale).

This task requires students to make connections within an application of right triangle trigonometry. Students need to research the heights of each of the buildings (and identify the buildings/locations). Then perform right triangle trigonometry to find the distance to the photo. From there, the base represents the radius of a circle from the building. Where the circles intersect is the location of the jewels. Hint: "dumped" is a specific term

This task utilizes CCSS G.SRT.C.8 and will work with any program as an enrichment or task.
