I use this guidebook with my Literacy discussion groups.It was developed based on the ELA guidelines of the Common core. It is a way for me to "meet" with my higher reading groups without, literally, meeting with them. It guides the reader on a 5 day journey to read their book, think about what they are reading, and reflect on what they are reading. Each day is designed with specific theme/strategy that must be signed off by peer, teacher, and a parent. This guidebook holds the student accountable for their work and it allows me to assess them as readers and conference with them almost daily.
