PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Why not turn a summer vacation into a teacherspayteachers product. My students have loved all of my other CLOSE reads. I love telling my students of my adventures, so why not combine the two. Students will have an opportunity to learn about the park history, park attractions, elk and black bears, camping styles and the weather. After each CLOSE read there is a writing worksheet to go with them. I have found that students never know how to start their sentences. So each writing sheet has sentence starters. After the summary writing worksheets, students can compare and contrast the bear and the elk facts from the CLOSE reads. One other page that my students love was the chart study where they have to compare campsite locations throughout the Great Smoky Mountain National Park for the best locations. As an added bonus I added some of my personal pictures because as a teacher, sometimes we need visuals! I hope your students enjoy this product as much as my students did. If you liked this product check out my other common core aligned CLOSE read products: famous inventors, women in history and inspirational athletes.
