PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The following is a group activity that focuses on seven of the most important thinkers of the Enlightenment. Students will work in groups to translate primary sources into modern language. Then, as their assigned thinker, the groups draft letters to their government expressing their views and criticizing the shortcoming of their governments. If students have not learned much about the government of England at this point in the curriculum, they can write letters to the government of France, Spain, or the modern government of the United States. Feel free to modify this product as you see fit. This activity promotes critical thinking, class discussion, and teamwork.
