This packet is designed to help students master CCSS 1.NBT.B.3: Compare two two-digit numbers based on meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results in comparisons with the symbols >, = and <.
This pack includes 72 task cards that can be used for sorting activities, partner work and/or Scoot games. The cards are presented in 3 levels. To aide with organization, each set of cards is presented on a different black and white background. (See contents page.)
The levels for Scoot games and sorting activities are:
Numbers within 10
Numbers within 20
Numbers within 100
For partner work, I have kids take turns choosing a card and writing the <, = or > sign on the answer sheet. If needed, they can also “prove it” using manipulatives. Once they have come to an agreement, they write their answer on the recording form. When they have completed the set, they use the answer sheet to check their work.
Greater Than, Less Than or Equal sorting mats are included.
I hope you find this packet helpful! : ) Anne Gardner, Common Core Connection
